The powerful Wintermaker, frigid force of severe Nature, approaches his adversary Shingebiss, a humble but persistent duck. Having tried and failed to disable him, Wintermaker acknowledges that there is a power in the quiet persistence of a peaceful life. And they come to terms: Wintermaker agrees to go away for half the year, and that is why we have spring and summer.
